Coastal Youth Symphony of Georgia P. O. Box 603 Brunswick, Georgia 31521 Email Coastal Youth Symphony of Georgia | THE COASTAL YOUTH SYMPHONY OF GEORGIA HANDBOOK ATTENDANCE POLICY: Musicians are expected to attend and arrive on time for all rehearsals and concerts and to remain for their entire duration. Regular attendance is essential for the quality of our programs and concerts; therefore, attendance is taken each week at rehearsal. Attendance at dress rehearsals and concerts is mandatory. Three excused absences are allowed per semester. Please notify the conductor before the scheduled practice if you cannot attend. REHEARSALS: The CYSG rehearses at Jane Macon Middle School band room every Monday from 6:00 to 8:30, begining August 30, 2010. Please bring a pencil and the music to rehearsal. Musicians should be in their seats ready to play at 6:00. There is no supervision after rehearsal, so musicians must be picked up promptly. MEMBERSHIP FEES: The annual membership fee for the orchestra is $50.00 (August–May) payable to the Coastal Youth Symphony of Georgia. All membership fees are non-refundable. A small amount of financial aid is available for students who need assistance in paying their membership fee. PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Upon acceptance to the Coastal Youth Symphony of Georgia, the musician and his/her parents/guardians are expected to make a serious commitment to the orchestra and to the organization. Parents make a valuable contribution by encouraging their musician to practice outside of rehearsals and by seeking private instruction. Parents/guardians will be asked to volunteer their time and talents. This is essential to the daily operations of the youth symphony. Click here for a printable PDF version of this handbook.
